Poffertjes are delicious sweet pancakes that belong to the Dutch cultural tradition. Similar to Pancakes, Dutch Poffertjes are the most famous sweet street food you can find in Holland!

Prepared with a 00 flour batter, buckwheat flour, yeast, sugar, butter, milk and eggs, these Dutch sweet pancakes are usually served with icing sugar and butter, but you can decide to enrich them with the ingredients you prefer ! Perfect for both breakfast and as a snack, Poffertjes are a dessert that is prepared all year round, especially during holidays and special occasions!

We take a bowl and pour egg and sugar inside. We beat everything with a hand whisk. Gradually add the sifted flour, interspersed with a few tablespoons of milk. We do this until we run out of milk and flour.

We combine the sifted instant yeast. The last ingredient is melted butter. We mix.

We pour the mixture into a dispenser with a pointed cap.

We heat a non-stick cake pop plate and pour a little dough into each cavity, trying not to get to the edge. We close the plate and cook for 4 minutes.

With the fork supplied, turn the sweets over to cook them on the other side as well. We close the plate and cook for another 4 minutes.

We check the sweets, turn them over and cook them for another 1 minute. Remove the sweets from the plate and proceed in this way with all the dough, always doing 4 minutes-4 minutes-1 minute.
